How much does Botox cost per unit in Cypress?

At Glow Up Med Spa, Botox is $12 per unit when you pay by the visit. Nationally, most practices charge between $10 and $15 a unit, so $12 sits in a great range given the high quality of the customer service and injectors.

Per-unit pricing is the most transparent way to buy Botox because you only pay for what goes into your face. However, some spas quote "per area" instead, which sounds simpler but hides the number that matters. A $300 "forehead" at one spa might be 15 units, and at another it might be 25. It's important to always ask how many units are in a per-area price, then divide.

Published Orange County menus we checked in October 2026 put Botox between roughly $10 and $14 per unit, with some spas listing $10 but require a minimum of 40-50.  Coastal spas tend to charge more for the same product, because of rent, not results.

How many units of Botox does each area need?

Most people need 20 to 60 units per visit, depending on how many areas they treat and how strong their muscles are. Frown lines alone usually take about 20 units, while the classic "big three" combo (frown lines, forehead, and crow's feet) takes 40 to 64.

Three things push your number up or down:

Muscle strength.  A 2005 Carruthers study found men got better frown-line results at 40, 60 and 80 units than at the standard 20. One dermatologist puts typical dosing in that area at 20 to 60 units for men versus 20 to 30 for women. That's closer to double.

The look you want. A fully smooth forehead takes more units than a soft, still-moves-a-little result. First-timers often start lighter and add units at a 2 week check-in.

Whether you're preventing or correcting. Preventive "baby Botox" in your 20s or early 30s can be 10 to 20 units. Softening lines that already show at rest usually takes a full dose.

What does Botox cost for each area at Glow Up?

Frown lines, about $240

The vertical "11s" between your brows are the most common first treatment and the only area with a set label dose: 20 units. At $12 a unit, that's $240, or $200 from a unit bank. Strong frowners sometimes need 25.

Forehead lines, $120 to $240

Forehead lines take 10 to 20 units, and more isn't always better here. Too many units in the forehead can drop your brows, so a good injector usually treats frown lines alongside the forehead to keep things balanced. Expect your injector to suggest both together.

Crow's feet, $144 to $288

The lines at the outer corners of your eyes take 6 to 12 units per side. If you smile big or squint in the sun, you'll be at the higher end. This area pairs well with the forehead because the results show most when you smile.

Lip flip, $100 flat

A lip flip uses 4 to 6 units to relax the muscle above your upper lip so more of the lip shows. Glow Up prices it as a flat $100 service. It's a subtle change that lasts about 6 to 8 weeks, shorter than other areas. If you want actual volume, that's lip filler, a different treatment.

Masseter, $480 to $720

Botox in the jaw muscles slims a square jawline and helps with clenching or grinding. It takes 20 to 30 units per side, which makes it the most expensive common area and the one where a unit bank makes the most sense. Jaw slimming shows gradually over 4 to 8 weeks as the muscle relaxes.

Masseter treatment uses more units than any other common area.

Brow lift, gummy smile, and chin, $24 to $96 each

These small areas take 2 to 8 units each and are usually added onto a bigger treatment rather than booked alone. A brow lift raises the outer brow slightly, a gummy smile treatment shows less gum when you smile, and chin Botox smooths a dimpled "orange peel" chin.

The cheapest Botox isn't the lowest per-unit price. It's the right number of units, placed well, so you don't come back to fix it.

Brands

Is Dysport or Daxxify cheaper than Botox?

You can't compare them by per-unit price because each brand uses its own unit scale. Dysport typically takes about 2.5 to 3 units to match 1 unit of Botox, so its per-unit price looks lower even when the total treatment costs about the same.

Glow Up carries Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify. Daxxify is designed to last longer, often closer to 6 months than Botox's 3 to 4, which can mean fewer visits per year. Compare the total for the same areas, not the sticker price per unit, and ask your injector which brand fits how often you want to come in.

How much does Botox cost per year?

Botox lasts about 3 to 4 months, so most people treat 3 to 4 times a year. At 40 units per visit, that's $1,440 to $1,920 a year at $12 per unit, or $1,200 to $1,600 using unit banks.

Your routine Units per year Yearly cost at $12/unit Yearly cost with unit banks
Frown lines only, 3 visits a year 60 units $720 $600
Big three (40 units), 3 visits a year 120 units $1,440 $1,200
Big three (40 units), 4 visits a year 160 units $1,920 $1,600
Masseter (50 units), 2 visits a year 100 units $1,200 $1,000

Yearly totals assume the unit counts shown and Glow Up's October 2026 prices. Masseter is often maintained twice a year once the muscle has relaxed.

Many regular patients find they can stretch visits to every 4 months after the first year, because the muscle gets used to moving less. That alone can cut a yearly bill by a quarter.

When is cheap Botox a bad deal?

Before you book anywhere, ask three questions: how many units are included, what brand it is, and who's injecting (an RN, NP, PA, or physician, working under medical direction). If a spa won't answer all three plainly, that's your answer. Our guide to 10 med spa red flags covers the rest.

Which option should you book?

You've never had Botox: Pay per visit at $12 a unit and start with frown lines or a light forehead treatment. See how you like it before buying a bank.

You treat the big three every 3 to 4 months: Buy a 100 unit bank for $1,000. It covers about two visits at $10 a unit.

You want a slimmer jaw or have clenching: Start with a 50 unit bank for $500, which covers one full masseter treatment.

You just want a fuller-looking upper lip, fast: A $100 lip flip. If you want lasting volume, ask about filler instead.

You're in your 20s and thinking prevention: 10 to 20 units of baby Botox, $120 to $240, a couple of times a year.

You want fewer appointments: Ask about Daxxify at your consult, since it often lasts longer between visits.
